Community Baptist Church Of Monrovia
Our Church
Community Baptist Church was organized in 1941, by Rev. John A. Davis. Rev. Carter of the Friendship Baptist Church of Pasadena was called as moderator.
At that time the ordained Deacons were brothers: Arthur Moore, Jim Brown, and John Berrinter. Worship services were held at a house on the corner of Shamrock and Royal Oaks Drive in Monrovia. The property on which the church now stands was purchased from Mr. George Brewster. The cornerstone was laid in 1950.
Other great Ministers of the word of God, who helped Community Baptist Church along it's spiritual journey are, Pastor M. T Perry in 1966, Pastor Thomas L. Spears in 1968, Dr. B. F Hardy 1972 and Associate Minister Rev. Frank Hardy who answered his call to the Ministry. During Dr. B. F Hardy's Ministry the Deacons, Emmitt Bell, Olen C. Graves, Winford Smith and Leon Washington Sr. were ordained in 1983. Later in 1986, the Deacon Board grew with the addition of Deacons Clarence Jackson, Billy Phipps and Albert Warren Sr.
